The New Zealand women's basketballers will be going to the Beijing Olympics.
Although they qualified after beating Fiji in the Oceania Championships selection was up to the New Zealand Olympic Committee.
The Tall Ferns build-up to the last Olympics was marred by controversy when an NZOC selector Bruce Cameron quit over their inclusion.
But they made the quarter-finals and the NZOC says they've shown they're capable of progressing beyond pool play next year.
The commitee's Secretary General , Barry Maister, who's also a selector, says the 16th ranked Tall Ferns did well at Athens.
They beat Korea and China in pool play, finishing eighth ahead of China, and since then they've won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
Basketball New Zealand will name the individual players next year.
