Navratilova to play legends tennis event in Eastbourne

One of the all-time greats of women’s tennis, and Eastbourne favourite, Martina Navratilova, will take part in the Legends event to launch the AEGON International at Devonshire Park, Eastbourne.
Navratilova is the winner of 18 grand slam singles titles, including nine at The Championships Wimbledon. She also won the title at Eastbourne eleven times.
Richard Kraijeck and Conchita Martinez complete the line up on June 12 and 13 at Devonshire Park because Jana Novtona has withdrawn.
AEGON International Tournament Director, Gavin Fletcher commented: “It’s absolutely fantastic to have these three extra legends joining the event. With the announcement that Serena Williams has been awarded a wild card for the AEGON International, it really is set to be a great week of tennis and I cannot wait for it to get started.”
On Sunday June 12, Henri Leconte will take on Kraijeck in the third match on centre court. Kraijeck will then team up with Navratilova to take on Martina Hingis and Leconte in the last match scheduled on centre court for that day.
The following day sees Leconte and Martinez face Greg Rusedski and Hingis in the last of the Legends encounters at the tournament. That match will be third on centre court.
The Legends players will also be available for autograph sessions on site over the course of the two days.
