Namibian beach volleyball fans are set to be treated to seven tournaments this year as DTS, together with the sponsorship of Maerua Superspar, have announced their 2011 DTS Beach Volleyball Series.
The competition will begin on March 12 and end on November 5 with prize money for the winning team increasing from N$ 400 to N$ 500 this year. This means a total of N$ 4,000 will be given to all winners and runner ups of the each category at each tournament.
The Mini Volleyball section will also return for children under 15 years old and will again be organized by the Namibian Volleyball Federation. The popular 4-a-side mixed category has shown that there is a growing demand for social volleyball and alongside that the organizing committee will also offer 2-a-side social teams the chance to take part on the courts together in the Youth Division for those social 4-a-side players that want to try the "real" Beach Volleyball.
The competition sponsors will determine the most athletic female and male player at each tournament with prizes to be distributed to them as well as overall prizes for the year.
