Hockey - 12. June 2007.

Musco Lighting has agreed a deal to become official lighting partner for the EuroHockey Nations Championships 2007, sponsored by Qatar Airways, which takes place at Belle Vue in Manchester from 18th-26th August 2007. This world-class hockey event, second only to the World Cup, will attract the top nations from all over Europe including the likes of England, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands as well as hockey fans from all over the globe.

Musco will literally ‘light up’ the event, which will include a number of England games during the early stages of the competition including the women’s important clash with the highly fancied Netherlands. The England men will be able to renew their long-standing rivalry with the German team after England won a gold medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, beating the German’s in a memorable final and securing what is surely one of the most successful-ever moment for British hockey.

Barry Snellgrove, Marketing and Communications Director for England Hockey, commented: “The addition of Musco lighting to our ever-expanding list of commercial partners and sponsors will add much value to our event. Fans will now be able to watch top England games in an inspiring environment and we are confident that we’ve now created a ‘festival’ atmosphere for fans from all over Europe to enjoy throughout the week.”

The joint tournament, which will take place at Belle Vue in Manchester, the legacy facility from the 2002 Commonwealth Games, will begin on 18th August 2007. The top three teams in each event will gain direct qualification for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
