Meagen Nay set a Commonwealth Games record of two minutes, 9.53 seconds in her qualifying heat in the Women's 200m Backstroke on Friday and is favoured to win her second Gold medal of the Delhi 2010 Games.
Nay won Gold in the Women's 4x200 Freestyle relay earlier this week, and her thoughts turned to her family during her celebrations.
Her brother, Amos, was killed in a car accident in Australia while she competed at the 2009 World Championships in Rome.
Her father, Robert, was killed in a car crash when she was four. He swam for Australia at the Munich 1972 Olympic Games and won the 4x200m relay at the Christchurch 1974 Commonwealth Games.
"I am sure my dad and my brother were up there looking after us'' she said after winning Gold.
Her mother and sisters were in the stands for both her Gold medal and record-setting swim. -GNS
