MIRINDA NABS ZOOT

Ford Ironman 70.3 World Champion, Mirinda Carfrae, has signed an agreement to use and endorse Zoot Sports’ footwear, apparel and wetsuits. “I’m thrilled to be with Zoot” said Carfrae. “Zoot makes great products. Zoot knows triathlon. It’s great to be with a company that is just as committed to the sport as I am.”

“We are excited to have Mirinda join the Zoot family” said Elisette Carlson, Zoot Sports’ Director of Marketing. “At Zoot, we seek to align ourselves with tough athletes that are strong brand ambassadors and great competitors. Mirinda is young, feisty and extremely committed to being a leader in the sport. She’s a perfect match for us.”

Carfrae, the 26 year old Australian, won the 2007 Ironman 70.3 World Championships last November with the fastest 70.3/ Half-Ironman time ever recorded. She was named Triathlete Magazine’s 2007 Half-Ironman / 70.3 Distance Athlete of the Year. While Carfrae plans to move up to full-distance Ironman racing in the future, her 2008 race schedule will focus on 70.3 and non-drafting shorter distance races, including a defense of her World Championship.

Carfrae joins Triathlete Magazine’s 2007 Triathlete of the Year, Samantha McGlone, and Ironman Champion, Luke Bell as Zoot’s featured athletes.
