Massaro Maintains World No.1 Position For Second Month

England’s Laura Massaro has maintained her position as the Women’s World No.1 for the second consecutive month after topping the February PSA Women’s World Rankings released today (Feb 1).

Massaro maintains a narrow advantage over rivals Nicol David, who moves back into second place after falling to a ten-year low of No.3 in December 2015, with Raneem El Welily, the woman Massaro overtook atop the standings on January 1, dropping to No.3 - her lowest ranking since 2014.

J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions winner Nour El Sherbini moves up a World No.4 while runner-up in that tournament Amanda Sobhy, the top ranked American player, moves up to a new career-high of World No.7.

After reaching the semi-final in New York World Junior Champion Nouran Gohar has moved up to a new career-high of World No.8 while England’s Alison Waters has fallen to a four-year low of No.13.
