" MAGIC PROVES THEY GOT MOJO!!! "
The Modesto Magic came away with a win in their first game of their inaugural year. With almost 1000 fans in the stands, Mojo was flowing and Magic was scoring. Salena “Sal” Estrada, number 25, proved to be a force to reckon with by scoring 2 touchdowns and rushing for 128 yards. Debbie Wears scored a touchdown, and Jessica Gray scored for a 2 point conversion. Debbie Wears, number 33, and Jen Bauer, number 29, were both on track for 100 yards rushing, but were pulled up short due to minor injuries.
Meggie Gilbert, number 15, and the Magic defense had an amazing night. Meggie racked up 3 sacks, 2 of them solo. The defense held the Wildfire scoreless, however the Wildfire defense scored on a fumble recovery. Rosa Cervantes, number 24, and Rose Ojeda, number 52, celebrated their birthday with multiple tackles each.
Overall, it was a great night for the Magic! The final score was Modesto Magic 20, Arizona Wildfire 6. Got Mojo? Modesto Magic's next game will be April 26th against the LA Amazons in LA territory.
