The capital's premier roller derby team, the London Rollergirls, are proud to announce their three permanent teams and upcoming 2008-2009 bouting season, to start on Saturday 27 September.
The 55-strong league, made up of tough, roller-skating female athletes from all around London and the world, has already played major matches against Team Canada and the Glasgow Rollergirls, emerging from both undefeated.
Since September 2007, the London Rollergirls have been divided into temporary Team Black and Team Pink in order to play fast, fierce games in front of sell-out 500-capacity crowds, with beer, DJs and entertainment adding to the eclectic atmosphere.
But since roller derby fever has been sweeping the nation (two years ago, there was one UK league, now there are 19) the ranks of the London Rollergirls have grown. They're now ready to break out into three permanent teams, each with their own colourful costumes and distinctive attitude. They are:

Ultraviolent Femmes
Horrorshow roller derby action
Suffra Jets
Retro feminists of the future
The season will kick off on Saturday 27 September, with the Ultraviolent Femmes battling the Suffra Jets for a place in the intra-league final.
