Leeds Met Carnegie were crowned as Womens UK Dodgeball Champions in Nottingham, on Saturday 22nd November. 
The Leeds girls beat pre-tournament favourites Warwick Uni Women I by 3-2 (2 drawn games) in the best of seven final. After winning the first 2 games by four players to three, Leeds Met were kept to 2-0 as Warwick started to get into top gear and held Carnegie to a draw before Leeds took a 3-game lead. Warwick battled back with two 4-2 wins to leave them 2 games to 3 down with just one left to play. The seventh game seesawed with Leeds Met going 5-3 in the lead, Warwick’s captain Mandy Sahota then took a catch and got a Leeds players out to take the lead, only to see Carnegie come back with a good hit, on the whistle, to square the last game at 3-3 and win the match.
On the way to the final, Carnegie had to overcome their final opponents in the group matches, beating them 2-0 (2 wins and 3 drawn games) and were held to a 2-2 draw by the newly formed Balls of Steel Women’s team. They won their semi-final by 2-0 over Warwick’s 2ndrd place over Southampton Dodgettes in a hard fought 3-2 victory, reversing the 3-1 defeat they suffered in the first round group. team; Warwick 2nds taking 3

S.U.G’s, from Stafford, lost both their group matches but showed some great potential for the future when they defeated Balls of Steel by 2-1 and Derby Daggers by 4-0 in the play-off for final tournament placing.
