LEADING SPORTS EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER TO SPONSOR EURO HOCKEY NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007

Harrod UK, the UK’s leading manufacturer of sports ground equipment and netting, is to become exclusive supplier of hockey goalposts, nets and team dugouts at the EuroHockey Nations Championships, which takes place at Belle Vue in Manchester from 18th-26th August 2007. Harrod UK, founded in 1954, has a long established record of supplying equipment to some of the world’s top sporting events and locations including the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, Twickenham and Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

Les Saunders, Sales and Marketing Director for Harrod UK, commented: “Harrod UK have worked closely with England Hockey for many years and are delighted to be named as the official suppliers of goal posts, nets and team dugouts for the EuroHockey Nations Championship. England Hockey will put on an outstanding event and we believe our wealth of experience in supplying the country’s leading venues will help towards the smooth running of what promises to be a very memorable championship.”

Stephen Barlow, Competitions Manager for England Hockey, added: “I am delighted that our friends at Harrod UK are supporting the event. We have worked with them over a number of years and know their products are of the highest quality. We feel sure that their new Integrally Weighted Hockey Goals and their dugouts will enhance the look of the arena for the Championships.”

The EuroHockey Nations Championships is a bi-annual event with the last tournament having been held back in 2005 in Leipzig (Men) and Dublin (Women). Manchester 2007 will be only the second time in the history of the event that both the men’s and women’s tournaments have been held at the same venue. The joint tournament, which will take place at Belle Vue in Manchester, the legacy facility from the 2002 Commonwealth Games, will begin on 18th August 2007. The top three teams in each event will gain direct qualification for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Tickets can be bought through the tournament website – www.eurohockeymanchester2007.com
