Laura Geitz to receive captain's necklace from Natalie von Bertouch
Laura Geitz's captaincy of the Australian Diamonds will be made complete tomorrow when she receives the traditional captain's necklace from Natalie von Bertouch on Thursday at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Geitz, who will lead the Diamonds on home soil for the first time on Friday night against the New Zealand Silver Ferns, was appointed to the role in August following the retirement of von Bertouch.
The tradition, established by fellow defender Liz Ellis in 2007, will see Geitz become the fourth captain to receive the necklace following Ellis, Sharelle McMahon (2008-2011) and von Bertouch (2011-2013).
