Five-a-side football is a variation of association football in which each team fields five players (Four outfield players and a goalkeeper) rather than the usual eleven players on each team. Other differences from 11-a-side football include a smaller pitch, smaller goals and a reduced game duration. The pitches are usually enclosed with a barrier or cage which prevents the ball leaving the playing area and keeps the game flowing.
The main organisers of Ladies Five-a-Side football are Top Corner, Power league, Goals and Elms and these organisers are great at what they do however do these organisers cater for the development of ladies football from different backgrounds of life, financially? Or do they cater for companies who pay corporately for their employees? Is it satisfactory, that a team should pay from £450.00 to £850.00 to take part in a ten to twelve week football league?
Unfortunately, looking on the internet for Ladies Five-a-Side football there is not much scope other than the organisers listed above and therefore we at Ladies Super Liga feel that there is the need to develop and establish a new ladies Five-a-Side football league which provides value for money, recruits individuals and allocating them into team and offers a free training session, giving all the ladies the opportunity to play.
The need to recruit individual players and allocate them into teams is a must in the world of ladies Five-a-Side football. This should be established more with the organisers and not only in eleven side football.
It is because of high costs and ladies not belonging to a team that talents are missed. Our aim at Ladies Super Liga is to develop ladie's awareness of the opportunities to ladies including tournaments, leagues, football tactics, and social events and throughout running a well established and professional league.
