KERRY STICKS WITH TROPHY BRONZE WINNING ENGLAND SQUAD

England Senior Womens coach Danny Kerry has announced the squad selection to go to Rosario, Argentina for the BDO FIH World Cup 29th August – 11th September. Joe Elis and Hightown’s Sam Quek who were in the squad in the tests against the USA didn’t make the cut and Kerry has kept to the line-up that finished in the recent Champions Trophy at Nottingham in England’s highest position ever in that competition taking bronze at the expense of the Germans.
Currently ranked 6th in the world they will be playing in the same pool (B) as the Champions Trophy winners, host nation Argentina currently ranked 2nd in the World as well as China (3rd) Spain (8th) Korea (11th) and the South Africans currently ranked 12th. The current World Champions Netherlands (1st)share the pool A with Germany (4th), Australia (5th), New Zealand (7th), Japan (9th) and India (13th). ( According to Reuters, there is considerable doubt that India will be represented since the FIH is currently refusing to recognise India ) We can anticipate a fantastic atmosphere at the venue with the legendary exuberant enthusiasm of Argentine fans particularly when Las Leonas play and especially as Rosario is World’s Best Player, Luciana Aymar’s home town.
