University of Bath graduate Kelly Gallagher has made a piece of history by becoming the first British athlete to win a World Championships medal in a Paralympic Alpine event.
The Mathematics graduate and her guide, Charlotte Evans, took silver in the women’s visual-impaired slalom at Sestriere in Italy.
"Charlotte helped me with getting down the slope really well, giving me really good instructions, so it was a good race," Gallagher said.
Gold went to Henrieta Farkasova of Slovakia.
Kelly just missed out on the medals at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games, finishing fourth in the giant slalom.
Talan Skeels-Piggins, who does some of his land-based training at the University of Bath, finished 20th in the men’s Super-G sitting event at Sestriere
