British Disability Swimming has announced its squad for the IPC Swimming World Championships (25m) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil between 24^th November and 9^th December 2009.

The athletes have been named following the trials that took place at the British Gas Swim Wales Disability Short Course Championships on the 4^th-5^th July 2009 in Newport, Wales.   
 

Due to the high standards put in place for swimmer qualification at the trials, all selected swimmers had outstanding performances.

National Performance Director Tim Reddish said: “British Disability Swimming have selected a strong team with a focus to win gold medals.

“It’s an exciting time for our athletes because this is the first time in a four-year cycle that in year one there is an opportunity for our athletes to compete at a major international championships since 2001.”

This is the inaugural IPC Swimming World Championships (25m) short course and this will be Disability Swimming’s secondary meet for the year.
