Injuries force to Northern Territory to withdrawal from Nationals

The Northern Territory have withdrawn from the 2013 21/U National Netball Championships after a horrid run of injuries has left the side with just seven players for the remaining four days of competition in Canberra.

“It’s disappointing for the Northern Territory to withdraw from the 21/U National Championships but with just seven available players, it became an issue of athlete wellbeing and injury management so the difficult decision was made in the interest of the athletes,” Netball Australia’s National Event Manager, Mahney Lowe said of Northern Territory’s decision.

As per competition rules, all games against the Northern Territory prior to and after the withdrawal will be recorded as a bye. The results and ladder will be amended accordingly.

The Northern Territory was winless after their third three games following loses to Western Australia, ACT and South Australia.
