Ariel Hsing from the United States won the respective Women's Singles title at the inaugural ITTF-North America Cup on Saturday 2nd April 2011.
Staged in the Toronto province of Mississauga Ariel Hising, only 15 years old, beat top seed, Canada's Zhang Mo to clinch the title; in a surprisingly one sided final, she won in four straight games (11-7, 11-7, 11-9, 11-5).
Ariel Hsing progresses to the Volkswagen Women's World Cup which will be held in Singapore from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th October 2011.
For Ariel Hsing it will be her debut at this event.
Only 15 years old but she is not the youngest to compete in a World Cup; that privilege belongs to China's Guo Yue who was 14 years 5 months when she played in Stockholm in December 2002; in October 2011, Ariel Hsing will be 15 years 11 months.
