Honiton Gymnasts excel at The South West Prelims

The Event: South West Preliminary Acrobatics Competition

Honiton Gymnasts qualify to represent the South West at The British NDP Finals

Results:

Shaylee Moore and Lauren Davey Grade 1 Women’s Pairs were placed 2nd

Dan Liddiard and Megan Moore Grade 2 Mixed Pairs were placed 1st

Shaylee Moore, Jessica Kennaway and Valentine Tutcher Grade 2 Women’s group were placed 1st

Rachel Palfrey, Lauren Forsyth, and Corri Williams Grade 1 Women’s group were placed 3rd

Danni Gillard and Megan Moore Grade 3 Women’s Pairs were placed 2nd

Jessica Bollen and Jessica Todd Grade 3 Women’s Pairs were placed 3rd

Sarah Hodkinson, Faye Miles and Lauren Davey Grade 3 Women’s group were placed 2nd

Honiton Gym club brought home a host of medals from the recent regional acrobatics competition in Yate, including two NDP South West Championship titles. Hundreds of gymnasts from over the south west competed in this competition. Lauren Davey and Shaylee Moore were placed a fantastic 2nd out of 43 partnerships. The girls qualified through to the British NDP Finals. Joining them in the National Finals at Fenton Manor, Stoke on Trent in May are 1st placed Megan Moore and Dan Liddiard, and the trio of Shaylee Moore, Jessica Kennaway and Valentine Tutcher.

The club also have finalists in the schools national finals on April 26 & 27 after winning the south west school championships in Sherborne, Dorset. The gymnasts were Kirstie Dowle & Danni Gillard (1st Place U19 Women’s Pair) Jessica Kennaway and Rachel Palfrey (1st Place U13 Women’s Pair) and Jessica Todd and Megan Moore (1st Place U11 Women’s Pair). Finally the

Women’s U19 group from Honiton Community College came 1st with Kings School group, Ottery coming 2nd.

The club are hoping for even more success at the regional novice competition in Thornbury, Bristol on April 6.
