At this tournament, the United States will be defending its back-to-back gold medals from 2008 and 2009 (the world championship was not held in 2010 due to the Olympic Winter Games).

In just a couple hours (12 p.m. local/6 a.m. EDT), we play Slovakia at the 10,630-seat Hallenstadion. It is the first of our three preliminary-round games in the eight-team tournament.
