1. At what age did you realise your ambition to become a NASCAR driver?
It was at the young age of 10 when I first fell in love with the sport
2. What inspired you to get involved with the sport?
It was the message that my grandmom told me which was “Always follow your heart and never give up on your dreams”
3. How difficult is it to achieve in such a male-dominated sport?
I don’t see anything as being difficult. It’s all about have the proper mindset, will power and drive. If you focus too much on your hindrances you won’t be able to properly focus on what your trying to achieve.
4. Do you hope to inspire young women to follow in your footsteps?
Of course. I want to deliver the message to all woman out there that no matter what obstacles you face you can overcome them with unmatched perseverance and drive. Don’t let someone tell you that you can’t do something.
5. How much support do you receive in becoming the first female, Latin Nascar driver?
Everyone is really excited from me. My fellow Puerto Rican people have shown nothing but love and support. It’s great to know that I have an established fan base but more importantly to know that I have my country behind me.
6. Have you always wanted to gain this status?
No matter where life has taken me I have always wanted to achieve greatness in anything I do. I take extreme pride in my work and I think that is equally tangible in my results.
7. If you weren’t driving what would you be doing?
I would definitely be running my own cleaning service. I am the type of person that likes to take the lead and show the initiative and I feel that the best suited career for that would be owning my own business.
8. How was your first experience of the sport? Was it difficult?
In the beginning, of course, there was a little difficulty. However, over time it became like second nature to me and I became quite comfortable
9. You’re starting your career at Slinger Speedway on Sundays, how does it feel to know you will be driving every week?
Even though my racing career won’t officially start up until next year once I know that I will be racing every week it will be a great feeling. Once we establish sponsorship and work with my P.R. and marketing we will get around to racing every week.
10. What do you hope to achieve throughout your career?
My hope and ambition is to prove to not only myself but to everyone out there that even in a male dominated sport, a female can not only make a name for herself but be a force to be reckoned with.
