Historical victory in OmniumAustralian Josephine Tomic became the gold medallist of the Women’s Omnium, the event which had its debut during the fourth day of the Pruszkow world championships.
The Women’s Omnium was a very levelled fight. The last event, 500 metres Time Trial, decided about the order of medals. During this final event, the leaders, Josephine Tomic and Canadian Tara Whitten, raced in the last heat. Australians proved better in the time trial, and ensured herself a historical victory in the Women’s Omnium, as the Pruszkow championships are the first in the history to include this event. Dutch Yvonne Hijgenaar claimed the final spot on the podium.
