Nigeria swept the podium in the first Para-sport Powerlifting Bench Press Open Women's Final in Commonwealth Games history at the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Esther Oyema (NGR) claimed Gold with a total of 148.1kg, Ganiyatu Joy Onaolapo (NGR) claimed Silver with 139.3kg and Osamwenyobor Arasomwan (NGR) claimed Bronze with 124.6kg.
It was Nigeria's first medal sweep across any Commonwealth Games sport, and took its overall Weightlifting medal tally in Delhi to 11.
In the Open category the results are calculated by using a formula that creates a ratio between the actual weight lifted and bodyweight of the athlete.
