University of Bath Sport & Exercise Science student Katie Speller is celebrating winning eight medals at the XIII Natwest Island Games.
The 20-year-old collected four gold medals and four silvers representing Jersey at the Games, which took place at Aland, a Swedish-speaking region of Finland.
Katie, who is coached by Mark Skimming at the University of Bath, set a Games record of 4:52.29 to strike gold in the 400m individual medley and helped the Jersey team set a Games record as they won gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
She also won golds in both the 100m and 200m individual medley, as well as silvers in the 200m and 400m freestyle. Katie was a member of Jersey’s silver medal-winning 4x50m freestyle relay and 4x100m medley relay teams.
