Joanna Rowsell, Lizzie Armitstead and Wendy Houvenaghel set a new world record in the women's team pursuit at the Velodrome, Manchester . Wendy, Lizzie and Jo timed their effort to perfection winning in an incredible 3min 21.875sec. The event will be confirmed as part of the Olympic programme next month in accordance with the planned parity for male and female cyclists.
