Giant Mountain Mayhem 2008

Giant Mountain Mayhem 2008

Eastnor Castle Deer Park, Herefordshire

20th, 21st & 22nd June

February 29th marks the day when you and your pals have the opportunity to get involved in “the” event of the mountain bike calendar. Going live at the stroke of midnight on Friday 29th February, this year’s 24 hour cycling solstice promises to be the best yet. From midnight, entry forms will be ready for downloaded, so set your alarm and make sure you and your team mates are poised for the festival of cycling that is Mountain Mayhem.

For those who are desperate to guarantee their spot, event organiser Patrick Adams will be waiting up through the night for your hand delivered entry forms. Freshly brewed coffee will be ready and waiting.

Giant Mountain Mayhem kicks off with the Giant Dirt Demo where you can test out the newest bikes from all the major bike brands from Friday through to Sunday. In addition, 2008 has plenty of other activities to keep you entertainined including ‘Drag Racing’ on the Friday night thanks to Rock Shox and there will be a suitably tasteless trophy for the winner. On Sunday morning, if you are feeling energetic and fancy a change from your lap around the course, why not bring a road bike as well? Even better tell your roadie friends to come along! For the first time Mayhem is introducing the inaugural Mayhem Sportive, held on the Sunday morning. Covering 100kms of rolling roads, you’ll be back in plenty of time for just one more Mayhem lap!

Mini Mayhem will be hosted by the British Cycling’s Go Ride, bringing cycling to the next generation, so make sure the kids have their bikes with them too! There’s a climbing wall, paint-balling and so much more. These additional activities are free, as is entry and parking for everyone, even those who just want to have a look.

Don’t miss a visit to the Mayhem Village, with everything ‘mountain biking’ you can possibly think of, and a few things you can’t!

There’s so much going on this year we’ve had to create a brand new, full of info website with up to the minute Mayhem news, top tips, advice, competitions and much, much, more - including those all important entry forms.

What are you waiting for? Grab a coffee and head over to Mayhem World, where the fun goes on 24 hours a day.
