BIRMINGHAM - The 2008/09 season rolls on for Birmingham ’s premiere Roller Derby league – the Birmingham Blitz Derby Dames – and they’re sending their A-Team into back into battle against Germany ’s finest – the Stuttgart Valley Rollergirlz
Roller Derby is that fastest, fiercest female sport on eight wheels and it’s taking over the UK ! This season see the Blitz Dames bouting teams from London to Glasgow , Middlesbrough to Leeds and even hosting home bouts against German and American leagues.
The ‘Band of Brawlers’ bout will see the Blitz Dames up against the Stuttgart at Birmingham’s Cocks Moors Wood Leisure Centre on Saturday November 22nd. This home match is the first ever pan-European bout on UK soil!
In between a rigorous schedule of training and bouting, the Blitz Dames are out and about all over the West Midlands , raising funds through car boot sales, bakeoffs, supermarket bag-packing and even cheerleading.
