The Germans bounced back from two losses to outclass Argentina in straight sets (25-21, 25-16, 25-16) on today’s last second-round Pool E play at 2011 FIVB Girls’ Youth World Championship in Ankara, Turkey. Germany mustered a fine all-around game and seemed to have an answer for everything the South Americans tried.

Jens Tietböhl’s team was especially strong on attack and serve, while Argentina struggled with poor passing. Captain Jennifer Geerties and Susanne Besa led Germany with 15 points each. Maria Sol Calvete compiled seven points for Argentina.
Germany scored a solid win in the first set, taking it 25-21 thanks to strong play from Susanne Besa and Lisa Izquierdo. The second set provided more of the same, as Germany were up 16-10 at the second technical break and took it 25-16.
By the third set it was clear that the only thing in doubt was the final score and Germany closed it out, 25-16. Following Friday's rest day, Germany and Argentina will battle for ranks 5-8 at 2011 FIVB Girls’ Youth World Championship.
