Europe, the German Grand Prix is
one out of four Grand Prix events held throughout the year on the
International Judo Federation Calender.
The IJF Paris Training camp, held last week, provided high quality training
time alongside the World's elite and preparation for the Brits for the early
events such as the Grand Prix.
Sophie Cox (-52kg), Gemma Howell (-57kg), Gemma Gibbons (-70kg) and Sarah
Adlington (-78kg) will compete in the women's competition over the weekend.
With a 5th place at the 2011 Belgium Women's Open under her belt, and
training with the -78kg internationals at the EJU Spa Training Camp,
Adlington is looking strong.
Cox, a former two-time European medallist, picked up a bronze medal in
Germany last year at the 2010 German European Cup after making her return to
competitive judo after a five year absence.
The British team will fly out to
of the tournament, with British Judo's Head Coach Patrick Roux and support
coaches
Jane
Bridge, Go Tsunoda and Billy Cusack leading the delegation.
