GB Canoeing appoint new world class coaches in pursuit of 2012 Olympic medals
GB Canoeing is delighted to announce that they have appointed two new senior men’s technical kayak coaches to its Flat Water Racing Olympic Podium programme.
Josef Capousek is renowned in the canoeing world for having an unprecedented record of success. With over 30 years of experience as a coach, Josef has worked with athletes who have achieved no less than 156 World Championship medals and 31 Olympic medals.
Ian Wynne, GB’s bronze Olympic medallist, started work on the 1st April, ahead of the competition season.
The two new coaches will help GB Canoeing to achieve its medal target of at least two gold medals at London 2012. With a talented pool of athletes, world class coaching expertise and a track record of success, canoeing is set to step up to the challenge of delivering results during the next four years.
It is testament to GB Canoeing’s continued success that it was able to attract an outstanding group of coaches to select from.
