Gabby Day made a winning start to the new season by taking first blood in the UK's National Trophy Series at Exeter on Sunday. Her new bikes arrived on the Thursday before the race so this was the first chance that the CycleFit RT rider would get to test them off road.
The circuit was bone dry and very dusty, more like an off road criterium so it was important to hit the front early to avoid the dust cloud that followed the riders after the start.
Gabby hit the front straight from the start and was never headed throughout the race, winning by nearly a minute from Jasmin Adam- Friends.
