GREAT Britain powerlifter Natalie Blake has received a grant from her local council to support her bid to compete at the London 2012 Paralympics.
The Newark-based athlete (pictured) has received £2,012 from Nottinghamshire County Council as part of their Shining Stars programme which supports talented athletes who are currently performing at international level in their sports.
Grants are awarded to individuals to help provide support with the costs that an elite athlete will incur, such as travel, training, accommodation, competition fees, equipment and specialist coaching.
