Full House for the Lizzard Nandos Surf Pro
Entries for South Africa’s first internationally rated surfing event of the year, the one star ASP World Qualifying Series Lizzard Nando Surf Pro, which takes place at Durban’s New Pier 6-9 April 2007, have exceeded all expectations with a full house of entries confirmed for this R100 000 event.
The event takes place over four days with the winners being crowned on Monday 9 April.
Reigning Surfing South Africa Pro Surf Tour Women’s Champion Sarah Maritz (Amanzimtoti) is the top seed for the 2A rated women’s division and will be a tough competitor at her sponsor’s event. Maritz won the Pro Women’s title in 2004 and has reached the finals at every event since.
Defending Pro Women’s champion Stacey Guy (Cape Town) is the second seed while South African junior champion Tammy lee Smith (Balitto) and national junior team member Nikita Robb (East London) are the third and fourth seeds.
The Women’s event is sanctioned by Surfing South Africa.
The Lizzard Nandos Surf Pro is co sponsored by Nestle Pure Life Water, Bokomo, Bavaria, Durban Africa and Clayton Surfboards.
