The Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique has always recognised that their unique World Gymnaestrada brings many benefits, not only to the 23,000 active participants but also to the thousands of volunteers involved and the host city’s citizens.
The World Gymnaestrada is truly one of the only International events that touches so many lives and even years after each event the memories, experiences and most importantly the friendships formed live on said Mrs Margaret Sikkens Ahlquist, President of the Gymnastics for All Committee. The World Gymnaestrada brings people, regardless of their age, gender or cultural background together through movement, said Mrs Sikkens Ahlquist.
