Four-weeks-to-go’ to the start of Samsung Diamond League 2011 - $8 Million in Prize Money!
Monte Carlo - The second season of the Samsung Diamond League will blast out of the blocks on
6 May 2011 in Doha, Qatar.
The Samsung Diamond League is the world’s premier series of 14 international invitational track and field meetings which take place from May to September across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
The competition structure of the Samsung Diamond League remains the same as in its inaugural season, and is based upon the Diamond Race which follows the season long fortunes of the world’s best athletes competing in 32 event disciplines. Athletes obtain points by finishing in the top three places in their event discipline at any of the 14 meetings. Those collecting the greatest number of points win a prestigious Diamond Race Trophy and a 40,000 USD cash prize, which is the reward for the overall winner in each event discipline at the end of the season.
