Riesa, the city of sport is known for national and international competitions about the whole federal territory. National-, European- and World Championships take place in the domastic "SACHSENarena". It starts with Dancing follwoing by Judo, Aerobic or Cheerleading, Motocross and more and more. 
Acrobatics represent the foundation stone of development Riesa to the city of sport and events.
The first significant competition was the world championship in acrobatic in 1996, which was delivered in Riesa, also called "Elbestadt". According to the uniqueness of the event the completely reconstruced sports arena gets the name "WM-Halle". Six years later about 800 participants met at this event in the SACHSENarena, formerly called erdgas arena, not being far away of "WM-Halle" and bestowed on the audience fantastic competitions of sporty ambitions, fairplay thoughts as well as elegance and aesthetics.
This year, from 23rd untl 4th October, corresponding to the big tradtions of this sport, the beste european acrobats meet in Riesa's event hall to nominate the champion.
Kathleen Kießling, beeing the general manager of FVG, says, that the kind of sport and Riesa as the location were in a big communion since years. With regard to this SC Riesa e.V. is still playing an important role because of beeing an authentic partner. The athletes of the club represent themselves and the city at international championships, win precious metals and will be represented at the coming European Championships at the SACHSENarena, too.
In different championship disciplines, like women's- and men's pair as well as the mix pairs or women's and men's groups native athletes and the best international athletes will be also expected.
"We are realy happy to have the "Stadtwerke Riesa" as official presenter of the event", declared by the authorised officer Reiner Striegler. "In cooperation with the "Stadtwerke" we work intensively to realize events and we are utterly glad to have another common project for Riesa", added Reiner Striegler.
Bright prospects to the event are given by the "Internationale Sachsenpokal der Sportakrobatik" annually taking place in the Riesaer event hall. Athletes from 8 different nations like Belarus, Finland or Moldova attend to this last year. In the beginning of september 2014, 180 athletes practise gymnastics to win the title and gave the viewers a small foretaste of the coming impressive athletic feats on 23rd september 2015 in Riesa we are able to look forward to quite inquisitively.
