The second day's play opened with Boeckenberg against Adler Rauxel (GER). Just as in their match against the Czechs yesterday, the Belgians were too strong for their opponents, leading 12-3 at half time. With both teams making use of all of their allowed substitutions at some time in the half, the second half was more even and at one time the Germans were leading the half by 3. However, a late flurry of five unanswered goals in the last 7 minutes left the final score 23-12. Top scorers for Boeckenberg were Jarrett DE VRIENDT and Jesse DE BREMAEKER with 6 each and for Adler Rauxel Yvonne WISCHNIEWSKI (who came on at half time) scored 3.

In the second game of the day Szentendre (HUN) played Trojans (ENG). The Hungarians scored with their first attack and were never headed. Trojans equalised three times in the first half but three late goals gave Szentendre a 9-6 lead at half time. In the second period the lead was opened out to four goals but Trojans came back to level the scores with just 3 minutes left. A penalty conceded b y Trojans with just 1 minute left proved to be the decisive moment and Szentendre then held on for a 16-15 win. Whilst Trojans seemed to badly miss their top scoring girl from yesterday, due to being sick all night, Szentendre deserved their win because their better rebounding led to more possession and shots. However, unless they are able to adapt their styles, both teams may well struggle next year when the shot clock is introduced, as playing with a very slow tempo coupled with inaccurate shooting will be punished severely by loss of possession. Tomorrow will decide who goes for the bronze medal. If CCO beats Trojans, or loses by 2 or less, it will be them, but if Trojans wins by 3 or more then they will clinch second spot in the pool.

Game 3 was between TJ Znojmo (CZE) and the fancied Russian team Orel STU. The game was very tight with, apart from once for less than a minute, never more than one goal between the teams until the last quarter of the match. The Czechs opened the scoring but Orel hit back and took the lead themselves. Three times the Czechs equalised in the first half but Orel went in 6-5 ahead at half time. In the second half the Czechs equalised three times in the opening 15 minutes before taking the lead for the first time since the opening minute. They opened the lead to two goals but Orel came back to level with four minutes left. Three quick goals by the Czechs put them in the driving seat and the Russians ran out of time in trying to close the gap with Znojmo running out 13-12 winners. This win guarantees the Czechs a shot at the bronze medal if they can defeat Adler Rauxel tomorrow. However, if they lose then Orel will be second due to their big win over Adler yesterday.

In the final match of day 2 the hosts Koog Zaanstad played CCO (POR). Just as in the match the day before, the hosts were too strong for the visitors opening up a 13-3 lead by half time. In the second half they reinforced their superiority, winning eventually by 28-9. Every one of the KZ players, including the 4 substituted players, scored with Roxanna DETERING top scoring with 6 goals. The visitors did, however, score the most spectacular goal of the tournament when Bruno MARTINS, with his back to the post, caught his KZ defender sleeping and scored with an over-the-head shot.
