EUROLEAGUE Women – TTT Riga, Ros Casares end unbeaten runs for Umana Reyer, UMMC

VALENCIA (EuroLeague Women) - There are no more undefeated teams in the EuroLeague Women following defeats on Wednesday by Umana Reyer Venezia and UMMC Ekaterinburg.

TTT Riga (3-5) sprung the biggest surprise when they upset Umana Reyer 61-57 in Latvia.

After Vanessa Hayden-Johnson split a pair of free throws with 4:04 remaining in the contest to knot the game at 52-52 for Umana Reyer, Essence Carson put Riga in front for good with a jump shot.

Carson had 17 points to lead all scorers.

At 7-1, Umana Reyer have already clinched first place in Group B.

Also in Group B, ESB Lille Metropole (2-6) won for the second time in eight games by defeating MKB Euroleasing Sopron (4-4) 61-55.

Perfection also ended for UMMC Ekaterinburg at La Fonteta in Valencia on Wednesday as they lost 71-63 to Ros Casares.

Ros Casares (6-2) stamped their authority on the contest from the beginning and led the entire way.

Spain international Amaya Valdemoro (18 points) and Team USA’s Olympic gold-medal winner Delisha Milton-Jones (19) wreaked havoc on the Russians.

UMMC lead Group C at 7-1 with Ros Casares now 6-2.

Also in Group C, ZVVS USK Prague (3-5) won at home over Jolly JBS Sibenik (2-6) 102-78.

Leading 50-44 at half-time, Lubor Blazek's Prague outscored the visitors 27-17 in the third quarter for a double-digit lead and then pressed home the advantage in the fourth for a big triumph.

Australia international Lauren Jackson reminded everyone that she may be the best player in the world when firing Spartak Moscow Region to a 100-76 victory at Fenerbahce.

Jackson had 33 points and eight rebounds in Istanbul as Group D leaders and two-time defending champions Spartak improved to 7-1 while Fener fell to 5-3.

Also in Group D, TEO Vilnius (5-3) prevailed 73-62 over Lattes Montpellier (1-7) and Broker Kosice (5-3) defeated Beretta Famila (1-7).

Halcon Avenida returned to the Group A summit with an 80-70 triumph over Besiktas Cola Turka in Salamanca.

Anke De Mondt and Le'Coe Willingham had 19 points apiece to lead Avenida, who won for the sixth time in eight games while Besiktas (2-6) got a game-high 21 from Laura Harper.

Nadezhda stayed on the comeback trail in the EuroLeague Women by avenging their heavy defeat at Bourges.

Belarus international Anastasiya Veremeenko scored 22 points and Betty Lennox 17 along with nine rebounds as the Russians prevailed at home 65-61 for their second straight win in the competition to improve to 2-6 in Group A.

Anna Vajda had a game-high 21 points but it wasn't enough for MiZo Pecs 2010 (4-4) at Wisla Can-Pack Krakow (5-3).

Dominique Canty scored 13, Candice Dupree 12 and Jelena Skerovic 10 as Wisla claimed a 57-48 Group A triumph.
