England women win the third One Day International against Australia women.
England women won the final match of the One Day International Series by seven wickets against Australia at the WACA today.
Australia chose to bat first in the 3rd One Day International against an England side that included Susie Rowe who was making her one-day debut.
Isa Guha and Laura Marsh built the pressure from the first ball with Guha rewarded with two early wickets as Jenny Gunn took a catch at gully and Holly Colvin caught Leah Polton at mid-on.
Gunn continued to rock the Australian batting line up by claiming the wicket Shelly Nitschke who made 14 runs before she was caught by Marsh at square leg.
Marsh then went on to trap Alex Blackwell leg before in the 18th over to leave Australia on 48-4.
Charlotte Edwards took the ball to break the partnership of Jessica Cameron and Lisa Sthalekar, Danielle Hazell taking the catch after Cameron pulled straight to midwicket.
England then rattled through the lower order and were rewarded for some good fielding with three run outs as they bowled Australia out for 212.
Openers Heather Knight (33) and Danielle Wyatt (30) led a positive attack on the target and made light work of the new ball.
Wyatt set her highest score for England before she was run out in the tenth over as she was sent back looking for a quick single.
England looked in control as Lydia Greenway (59) came in and promptly hit the boundary at the start of a 66 run partnership with Knight. The pair parted company in the 25th over when Knight was caught at mid on by Rene Farrell off Sthalekar, leaving England on 113-2.
Edwards joined fellow Kent batter Greenway and the duo continued to attack the target with player of the match Greenway finding the ropes on seven occasions before she was caught at mid off.
In the 38th over Gunn was accompanied by Wyatt as a runner after leaving the field injured during the Australian innings.
Gunn chased down the target with player of the series, Edwards, who once again showed her form with the bat finishing on 48 not out.
Charlotte Edwards said: "I'm really proud of the team's performance today. We all dug deep to beat a very good Australian side. We weren't at full strength but the team have responded well to overcome setbacks and we will be looking to carry some momentum forward into the Twenty20 series.
"I feel in really good touch at the moment and the wickets out here have been excellent to bat on. I'm looking forward getting out on the park at Adelaide on Wednesday. It's always a great atmosphere to play in a double header with the men."
