England Women power their way through first day of Amsterdam 7s

England Women powered their way through the first day of action at the Amsterdam 7s on Saturday.

The squad of 12, all of whom were used throughout the four games, amassed a huge tally of 226 points and at the same time didn’t concede a single point all day.

England’s opponents in the quarterfinals are still to be decided but the likes of the New Zealand Aotearoa Maoris, Canada and USA are all still in contention.

England Sevens Head Coach Simon Amor said: “This is a good start. I am pleased that we haven’t conceded a single point, but the most satisfying thing for me is our performance. We have improved in each game we have played. The key now is to kick this on tomorrow for the knock-out stages.”
