England Women cant be complacent, says captain Spencer
Spencer, whose side must win on Saturday to keep their title ambitions alive, admits England slipped up once before this season because of complacency, so the Red Roses can't take anything for granted.
"This year's Six Nations has been much closer than it's been for long time, but as we go into the final round we're again sitting top of the table on superior points' difference," said the Bristol No. 8.
"We have the opportunity to win a fourth title and, again make history, but I also know we mustn't be complacent. We've made that mistake against Wales, and we can't afford to do it again."
England go into the final game against Scotland on the back of a superb 52-7 victory against France, and Spencer is hoping her side can recreate the form they showed in that match.
"I'm sure Scotland will throw everything they have got at us," added Spencer. "They won't hold anything back. Even so I'm confident that if we can continue the form that we demonstrated against Ireland and France we can win this game.
"This year's tournament has certainly produced a roller coaster of emotions, from the lows of losing against Wales to the highs of beating France so well. We have learnt so much over the last few weeks, so I'm hopeful that we can continue to improve going in to the game on Saturday."
