The major surpise is that current World ranked second , Argentina, are currently 5th behind England having drawn with second in the table Germany and lost to England. Following that victory, the home side went down to the Dutch in a game packed with incident and controversy suggesting better things still to come from the host nation.
Germany are currently second in the table .They won the tough opening game of the tournament against the Chinese. China dominated much of the game and were first to score thanks to a goal from XU Xiaoxu, but a double strike from Eileen Hoffman sealed three points for Germany. In their second game on Sunday they took on Argentina taking a first-half lead on 21 minutes with a field goal from Natascha Keller .
At the start of the second half, Argentina fought back with goals from Mariana Rossi and Noel Barrioneuvo. It was down to the German Captain , Tina Bachmmann’s goal from a short corner that Germany took a well earned draw. China bounced back from the defeat by the Germans to over come the Kiwis who are currently bottom of the table. China took an early lead on 11 minutes thanks to captain Fu Barong. Song Qingling added a second on 45 minutes followed by another seven minutes from time from Barong. Charlotte Harrison managed a consolation goal for the Kiwis in the dying minutes of the game.
