Karen Carney refused to get carried away after helping fire England to a 6-0 win over Belarus in their opening World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
The Birmingham City star scored a first-half hat-trick to set the Lionesses on their way, but with another game to come against Turkey next Thursday, Carney was just happy to have got the three points.
And it was a good start for Interim Head Coach Brent Hills, who has been charged with overseeing England's early qualifiers for Canada 2015.
Speaking to TheFA.com, Carney said: "That was really good, but the objective today was to get three points especially on the back of the recent tournament in the summer.
"It was nice to put in a good performance in front of our home crowd and get the three points, so the team can be happy and hopefully Brent will be happy as well."
One thing Carney was pleased to see were the displays put in by some of England's younger players such as Jordan Nobbs, Toni Duggan, Lucy Bronze and Natasha Dowie.
And coupled with some of the more experienced heads in the group, the 26-year-old felt the unity both on the pitch and off it has been excellent.
"There's a lot of new faces in there who came on and they all did really, really well along with the familiar faces in the squad," she added.
