England U21’s Tour to Australia

Newly appointed U21 Co- Coaches Jessica Garland and Anna Mayes will be leading the England’s U21’s on tour to Australia departing this weekend on Sunday 27th July. The tour is a key element of the U21 Squads preparation for the World Youth Netball Championships scheduled to be held in the Cook Islands in July 2009, and gives the U21 Squad a chance to test themselves 12 months before that event against the strength of Australia and New Zealand at U21 level. It should be hard tour – tough opposition, and lots of matches, but no one must forget that the results that count are ultimately in July 2009!

On their arrival into Sydney they will be travelling to Canberra to the AIS to commence their first week training matches against Australia’s Senior Team, U21 Team and in addition a local club side.

The second part of their tour will see them departing from Canberra on Monday 4th August heading straight to Brisbane; they will play against New Zealand’s U21s, Australia’s U21’s and possibly Queensland.
