The England Women’s squad for the Ata Holding Hockey Champions Challenge in Baku has been announced. England will play in the six team tournament between 9-17 June and will face hosts Azerbaijan, China, Korea, New Zealand and the USA.
The squad includes 12 players who were involved in England’s World Cup campaign in October 2006 which saw the team finish in seventh spot and sees the return of Leicester’s Anne Panter after four years out of the international scene having been plagued by injuries. Her last appearance in a major tournament was in the 2003 EuroHockey Nations Championships.
