Australian Diamonds coach Lisa Alexander has made two changes for Wednesday's international Test against South Africa in Newcastle with Kim Green returning to the team after overcoming a foot injury and debutant Chanel Gomes named in the 12-player team.
Defender Bianca Chatfield and Caitlin Thwaites will miss the second Test at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.
"Bianca has been rested from the second Test for load management reasons, to make sure that she gets through the six Test matches, but we're thrilled for Chanel (Gomes), who's been named in her first Diamonds team," Alexander said.
"With Kim recovering from her foot injury, we had to make the decision who was going to miss out so we opted to stick with our four shooters who did the job for us on Sunday (against England).
The Diamonds are looking to maintain their undefeated start to the 2012 Holden Netball Quad-Series after beating England by 24-goals in Adelaide on Sunday night.
While the Australians haven't played South Africa in seven years, the head to head battle heavily favours the home side, having never lost to their African counterparts in 28 previous Tests, the last outing coming in March 2005.
"We had a look at some footage today of the South Africans, a few have already played against them at last year's FastNet World Netball Series in England.
"We have got a bit of an idea that they going to be pretty tough, tenacious and fit, they're going to have a good crack and we really need to be minding our one on one defence."
Australian Diamonds team for second Test:
Caitlin Bassett, Erin Bell, Madison Browne, Rebecca Bulley, Catherine Cox (vice-captain), Renae Hallinan, Mo’onia Gerrard, Chanel Gomes, Kim Green, Chelsea Pitman, Susan Pratley, Natalie von Bertouch (captain)
The Australian Diamonds take on South Africa in the 2012 Holden Netball Quad-Series at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Wednesday night. The international Test double header will also see England take on New Zealand as the curtain raiser from 6.30pm. Both Tests can be seen live on FOX SPORTS, online with Telstra BigPond Sport and ABC Grandstand.
