Following a great start to the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships yesterday, we celebrated another day of racing at Lee Valley VeloPark.
Great Britain’s Laura Trott delighted the home crowd with a thrilling sprint finish in the women’s scratch race. Kirsten Wild from the Netherlands took silver and Stephanie Roorda from Canada took home the bronze medal.
The third world title of the day went to Germany’s Kristina Vogel in the women’s keirin final, closely followed by 2015 champion, Anna Meares (Australia). Despite only recently overcoming her injury, 2013 double world champion, Becky James claimed the bronze medal this evening for Great Britain, roared home by the partisan crowd.
