Danielle Zymkowitz back on the field for Bandits 2013
-Chicago Bandits GM, Aaron M. Moore, has announced the re-signing of Danielle Zymkowitz for the 2013 season. This will be Zymkowitz's third season in a Bandits uniform.
"We are excited to have Z back for another season in Chicago," stated Moore. "She'll be the first to tell you that she was disappointed in her season in 2012, and because of that we think that she will come back hungry and driven to find success again.
"Danielle is an extremely versatile player that can play many positions. She also provides some speed for us and she is one of the most-liked players by our fans."
After joining the Bandits via open tryouts in May of 2011, following her senior year at the University of Illinois, Zymkowitz went through the "sophomore slump" in 2012. She finished her second pro season with a .125 batting average, four RBIs and eight runs scored.
"I am so excited to be a part of the Bandits family for the 2013 season," said Zymkowitz. "Softball has always been my passion and to be able to continue playing with the best players in the world is an honor."
"I am eager to do my part in order to win another ring for the Bandit Nation and the city of Rosemont."
A 2011 All-NPF Team selection, Zymkowitz made a name for herself during her rookie season with a .298 batting average and an on-base percentage of .330. During her rookie campaign, she collected 10 RBIs and scored 16 runs.
Zymkowitz is currently serving as an assistant coach for the Fairleigh Dickinson University softball team in Madison, N.J.
