The Holden Netball Test Series between the Australian Diamonds and New
Zealand Silver Ferns will be played in front of a sold out Hisense Arena
when the arch rivals contest the third and final Test on Sunday.
The 9,600 capacity crowd snapped up the last remaining tickets on Friday
afternoon for the last trans-Tasman battle this year.
"We're absolutely delighted that Sunday's decider can be played in front
of a sold out venue," Netball Australia CEO Kate Palmer said.
"Once again the incredible rivalry between the world's top two teams
will come down to the wire with the Constellation Cup on the line."
The Diamonds have received unprecedented support around the country this
October with sold out or near capacity crowds around the country in the
longest domestic tour in the team's 73-year history.
Newcastle was a sell out for the Diamonds first Test, Sydney hosted a
record breaking crowd for an Australia v England Test and the first Test
against New Zealand sold out in Perth the day after tickets went on
sale.
"October has capped off an extraordinary year for Australian netball
which has seen the Diamonds successfully defend their World Championship
title and receive unparalleled support," Palmer said.
"With Sydney hosting the 2015 World Netball Championship, it's an
exciting time for the sport."
The Australian Diamonds take on the New Zealand Silver Ferns in the
final Test to decide the Constellation Cup on Sunday at Hisense Arena.
The match will be broadcast live on Channel Ten and online via Telstra
BigPond Sport for national and international audiences.
