Led by Naazmi Johnston Australia finished with 235.775 points. Johnston impressed on all four apparatus – Rope, Hoop, Ball and Ribbon, securing her a place in the All-Around Finals. More than 10 points behind, Canada was the Silver medallist with 224.325 points.
Mariam Chamilova (CAN) led her team with the highest score after the four apparatus and will advance to the All-Around Finals.
It was not such a good day for Demetra Mantcheva (CAN). Her Hoop rolled off the mat during her first routine, and her Ribbon knotted during her final performance. England rounds off the top three with a total of 220.475 points.
While they didn't win a medal, fourth place New Zealand competitors Mereana Rademakers and Kimberley Robson were crowd pleasers, both performing to popular Bollywood songs. New Zealand finished with 207.725 points, while India trailed with 174.850 points.
Tuesday's event also decided who will advance to the All-Around and Individual Apparatus Finals. Chrystalleni Trikomiti (CYP) finished with the highest All-Around score of 100.075 points, followed by Johnston (AUS) with 99.625 points and Malaysia’s Elaine Koon on 96.625 points.
16 gymnasts will compete in the All-Around Finals on Wednesday. On Thursday, eight athletes will compete in the Apparatus Finals for Rope, Hoop, Ball and Ribbon.
